Using Lawyer Videos to Learn the Law

If you’re in need of legal help, then there’s no better time to learn the law. While you will naturally need a lawyer to pursue your claim or defend your innocence, the more knowledge you have at your disposal, the better prepared you’ll be, and the more you’ll be able to help your lawyer. As it turns out, it’s easier than ever to learn the law online—and what’s better, you can learn it directly from qualified, reputable attorneys by watching lawyer videos. These lawyers, in an effort to both help the online community and to bolster their reputations with prospective clients, post informational videos online. The videos are designed to help laypeople learn about various aspects of the law, and to answer questions that frequently get asked by new legal clients. Here’s a breakdown of how to find these videos.

Learn the law from lawyer videos
Even though a lot of law firms include videos on their websites nowadays, it can be a hassle searching for videos one by one. Instead, do one of the following:
1. Find a lawyer video directory. Viewmylawyer.com is one such directory, and it has dozens upon dozens of videos posted by top-notch lawyers, who explain everything from consumer rights to personal injury to bankruptcy. If you’re searching for a lawyer in addition to learning the law, then you can also search for videos posted by lawyers in your area, giving you a chance to scout out prospective lawyers.
2. Use YouTube. Even though it’s best known for trivial video content, YouTube is home to a number of legal videos, posted by attorneys looking to capitalize on YouTube’s popularity. It may be harder to find exactly what you’re looking for, but if you’re more interested in a general knowledge of the law, then YouTube could be a good start.
3. Look on social media networks. Although they sound even less likely destinations to learn the law than YouTube, social media networks have their share of lawyers too. And much as with YouTube, lawyers are looking to broaden their reach by posting videos on their profiles. The good news about these firms is that they’ll probably be connected to you in some way, making them slightly better bets than just clicking on a random site you found online.

How to use lawyer videos
It goes without saying that watching videos won’t turn you into a lawyer. Nonetheless, many of these videos will answer questions you didn’t even know you had, and give you more context about the laws in question. This information can prove invaluable when deciding whether to pursue a legal course of action, and if you do choose to go that route, then also in what to look for in a lawyer. will look like and how the lawyer will work to protect your interests.

This is a brilliant concept, especially if you have difficulty understanding the terminology of law books. I’d recommend looking at more than one though in order to get a balanced view.

This is a wonderful way to make the law something that people without a legal degree can understand. Making it easier for your potential clients to understand can make them feel more at ease communicating their legal needs to you.

This is a great way to learn as you’re talked through each aspect of the law in detail and with clarity. It could not be easier and is to be recommended.

Like others have said, it’s a great idea to use videos to learn a bit about the law. You aren’t going to learn everything but you will become more informed. I have used Youtube to learn how to do many things – cook, clean, and so on. Why shouldn’t law be one of them?

  5. Cadence says:

Lawyer videos won’t turn you into a lawyer but they can help you decide to get a lawyer and to understand the process that would unfold if one were to pursue the law in their particular situation.

Lawyer videos are a great way to learn a little more about the law and introduce you to potential lawyers you might use for your needs.
