How to Find the Right Lawyer With Lawyer Videos
If you’re in need of legal advice and have already started your search for the right lawyer, you’ve undoubtedly run across some potential roadblocks. Even in today’s Information Age, it’s far more difficult to find lawyers who meet your needs than it is to find a book, movie, or other product that’s likely to satisfy you. Reviews of lawyers are few and far between, and while some firms may seem great on paper, it’s hard to know what they’re hiding behind that flashy website. However, you’ve already taken the correct first step: using the Internet to make your search easier. The next step is taking the initiative to narrow down your search to lawyers who allow you to judge their expertise and knowledge for yourself. More and more lawyers are allowing people like you to do just that by uploading lawyer videos both to their websites and those of lawyer video directories. Here are several ways lawyer videos can help you find the right lawyer.
See and hear them for yourself.
Lawyer videos are the next best thing to getting to meet with the lawyer in person—and without the awkward small talk. You’ll be able to rely on your instincts in a way that you can’t during email exchanges or phone conversations. And it’s more than just your gut reaction to the lawyer; most lawyer videos were created to answer questions that you might have about your legal situation. If what the lawyer says sounds sensible and dovetails with what you’ve discovered on your own, then you just may have found the right lawyer for you.
It shows they’re comfortable with modern technology.
This may sound like a small point, but the reality is, there are some firms out there who are still stuck in the past. The danger is that these firms may miss a trick (or two or three) in their representation of you because they aren’t up to speed with the latest technologies. Now, just because a firm doesn’t have any lawyer videos on its website doesn’t mean that it’s one of those firms; however, a firm that does have lawyer videos on its website almost certainly is not—and is able to use every resource at its disposal to help you in your pursuit of justice.
It helps you narrow down the field.
Let’s be honest: there are a lot of lawyers out there. It can be difficult to find easy ways of differentiating between all of them, but if you only look at those who are willing to virtually put themselves out there, you’ve narrowed down the field considerably. And those that are left will be lawyers who are on the cutting edge technologically, and who feel confident enough in their legal knowledge to share it with you, free of charge.
You’ll find answers to some of your questions.
While lawyers are prohibited from offering legal advice online, they can certainly explain some of the challenges you’re likely to face in your pursuit of justice, and provide some guidance in terms of your next steps. That kind of help early on in your legal journey can pay dividends down the road—and more importantly, give you a good idea of which lawyer is the right fit for you and your case.
Lawyer videos are a great way to help you find the right lawyer. They give you a good way of distinguishing between the sea of lawyers you can find online, and allow you to use your own instincts and judgment (rather than that of anonymous online reviewers) in your quest.

I don’t think it’s important to everybody, but for me it is extremely important to know that the lawyer I choose is comfortable with technology. It shows that they keep up with information and know how to use the internet. I appreciate that so many lawyers are starting to utilize technology, like videos.
I think most people would want a lawyer who they know is up to date in their thinking because this means that they keep abreast of changes in the law too. For me it would be essential that they were comfortable with technology.
Technology is everything nowadays and not just with young folk. Even my parents look on line first before they make any important decisions, though I had to show them how to use youtube!
That’s exactly right, Tim. How can I be sure that my lawyer is up to speed with changes in the law if they are not up to speed with technology? The internet is also a fantastic research tool. I would hope that my lawyer understands how to use it. Also, so many cases involve technology these days it’s a necessity to understand.
I agree with Ella and even more than that the legal system has evolved too. If you can’t show me that you are comfortable with technology how can I be sure that you know how to research and file things properly for my case?
